The AusTriathlon High Performance Program has launched its ambitious 2032+ Strategy, driven by our Vision: “Extraordinary Performances and People Inspiring the Nation.” This strategy aims to elevate Australian Triathlon back onto the global stage, ensuring even better support to our athletes and coaches, with a renewed focus as we strive to win, and win well in LA2028 and importantly, Brisbane 2032.

Reporting directly to the Performance Manager - Academy, we’re seeking a passionate individual who can provide evidence-based performance analysis and scientific support to our high performance coaches and athletes. The position will be responsible for capturing, integrating, analysing and interpreting scientific data to enhance athlete performance across all disciplines.

Working closely with the National Coaches, Performance Data Lead and other performance support practitioners the position will work collaboratively and proactively to identify areas of performance impact at a program as well as at an individual athlete level. The position will be responsible for translating relevant scientific knowledge and complex performance data into clear and impactful insights to support quality decision making by coaches.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate performance scientist to contribute to the countries best high performance triathletes and coaches making a direct impact on our performance goals for LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Human Movement / Coaching / Exercise / Sports Science Degree
  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Postgraduate qualification in Physiology, Movement Science, Sport Science, Data Analytics/Science or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in providing performance science/analysis in a high performance sport (preferably endurance sport)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with coaches to effectively plan, implement and monitor performance science interventions, athlete progression and performance trends within a sport
  • Proven ability to communicate complex data and insights in a clear, concise and coach/athlete friendly manner
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends as required, including travel for training and competition schedules
  • Awareness of, and ability to work in accordance with AusTriathlon's Safeguarding and Children and Young People policies
  • Accreditation with relevant national or international sport science bodies

Desirable Criteria

  • Technical knowledge and ability to operate a wide range of equipment, software (eg training peaks) and tools to capture and analyse performance data
