Description

Gymnastics NSW is the peak governing body for gymnastics in New South Wales, committed to fostering participation, excellence, and wellbeing across all levels of the sport. We deliver innovative programs, high-quality events, and support athlete development from grassroots to elite performance. As an affiliate of Gymnastics Australia, we are proud to lead the growth and success of gymnastics across the state.

We are expanding our passionate and dynamic team and have multiple officer positions available in the following areas:

  • Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) – Events and Pathways
  • Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) – Events, Pathways and Performance
  • Gymnastics for All (GfA) – Events, Pathways and Performance

If you’re motivated, organised, and passionate about sport development, event delivery, and creating meaningful experiences for athletes and communities, we want to hear from you!

As an Events, Pathways and Performance Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of gymnastics in NSW. Each role focuses on a specific gymsport but shares common responsibilities, including:

  • Event Management: Plan and deliver high-quality competitions and events that inspire athletes and engage spectators.
  • Pathways Development: Drive participation growth, support athlete retention, and implement programs that connect grassroots to high performance pathways. Implement athlete, coach, official and club development programs.
  • Performance Support: Coordination of state squads, state teams, performance clinics, workshops, high-performance programs and wellbeing initiatives for athletes and coaches.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with clubs, committees, volunteers, and partners to achieve shared goals.

These multifaceted roles blend event management, program coordination, and athlete development. Working closely as part of the Sport and Events Team, you will contribute to the strategic growth of gymnastics in NSW through effective planning, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on delivery.

Each role is unique, focusing on a specific gymsport with tailored responsibilities. While all roles share core functions in events and pathways, the WAG role focuses on athlete, official, and club development within pathways and does not include high-performance program coordination. Collaboration across the team is essential, with overlapping responsibilities and joint delivery of major projects.

  • Experience in event management, sport development, or athlete coordination.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of gymnastics or similar sporting environments (preferred but not essential).
  • High levels of initiative and a commitment to delivering first-class experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Applied Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a growing team making a real impact on athletes, clubs, and communities.
  • Work in a supportive, collaborative environment with opportunities for professional development.
