About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Workforce Development Manager leads education and capability building across Australia’s hockey community. Manage the national LMS, deliver modern training, and champion volunteer recognition. Help clubs and volunteers grow participation and create fun, high-quality experiences.

Key Accountabilities - Workforce Development

  • Lead the development and implementation of Hockey Australia’s Accreditation Framework, including FIH Learning Academy integration.
  • Manage and update HA’s Learning Management System and Foundation-level course content.
  • Deliver national train-the-trainer programs and annual Coach & Officials Conferences.
  • Drive the HA Workforce Development Strategy and chair the Coaching & Officiating Advisory Group.
  • Support Member Associations with coach and official development programs, education calendars, and accreditation maintenance.
  • Expand learning opportunities beyond accreditation pathways and ensure best practice through collaboration with ASC and other sporting bodies.

Remuneration

Hockey Australia will offer a $86,000 - $97,000 base salary plus superannuation dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration, sport management or teaching are desirable for this role.
  • Previous experience in using Learning Management systems (e.g. etrainu)
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management and performance monitoring.
  • Curriculum pedagogy and models of teaching (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the sport of hockey, and an understanding of contemporary issues and opportunities for growth of the Australian sports sector.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
