The 2XU Triathlon Series is one of Australia’s premier participation events, bringing thousands of athletes to the shores of Melbourne each summer. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic student or intern to join our team in a hands-on role across marketing, social media, and event operations.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain real experience in the sport and events industry, working behind the scenes on a major multi-race series. You’ll work closely with our marketing and event teams, support event-day operations, and help bring our athlete community to life across digital platforms.Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
Assist with writing and scheduling EDMs, newsletters and event communications
Help develop marketing content across website, athlete guides, partner integrations and campaigns
Support brand partner deliverables (2XU, Beyond Blue, SIS, etc.)
Conduct market research and competitor insights when required
Social Media
Assist in planning, creating and scheduling content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn
Capture content on race days (photos, behind-the-scenes, athlete interviews, reels, stories)
Help manage community engagement including comments, DMs, participant questions and FAQs
Work with ambassadors, run clubs and partner accounts for collaborations and content delivery
Event Management & Operations
Support the operations team with pre-event planning
Assist with event pack fulfilment, kit collection days and bump-in
Help coordinate on-site activations with partners and sponsors
Event-day support including registration, customer service, athlete flow, media, wayfinding, and volunteer check-in
General event logistics and administration
What We’re Looking For
Currently studying marketing, communications, events, sport management, business, or a related field
Strong interest in sport, fitness, endurance events or community engagement
Confident writing social media captions, emails, and general communication
Creative eye for social media, photography, videography, and content creation
Highly organised, proactive and able to work in fast-paced environments
Comfortable working early mornings on event days (race weekends)
Team-focused with a positive, can-do attitude
