Guildford Grammar School is seeking experienced and passionate Australian Rules Football Coaches to be involved with our AFL program supporting both our Boys’ and Girls’ teams during the Winter 2026 season.

The ideal candidates will possess strong qualifications and experience in Australian Rules Football, with a commitment to developing our players both on and off the field.

Please submit a short cover letter outlining your experience both playing and coaching, along with a current resume that includes details of three current referees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor your allocated team during training sessions and matches.
  • Develop and implement training plans tailored to the skill level of your group of athletes.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive football culture leaving behind a legacy in the Guildford Grammar Football program.
  • Work closely with the Head of Football to support talented players in achieving both team and individual success.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training and fixtures.

Training Schedule:

  • Monday and Wednesday 3.30pm - 5.30pm (Juniors)
  • Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm (Seniors)
  • Wednesday 3.30pm - 5.30pm and Friday 12.45pm - 3.30pm (Girls)

Fixture Schedule:

  • Friday afternoons (Juniors)
  • Friday evenings and occasional Sundays (Girls)
  • Saturday mornings (Senior Boys)

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of Australian Rules Football and proven coaching techniques, preferably with school aged children or youth athletes.
  • Currently studying a degree in Sport Science, Strength and Conditioning, Health and Physical Education, or a related field (desirable)
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Hudl or Analytics (desirable)
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Police Check (dated within the last 6 months).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues within the Sports Department and across the School.

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
