We are seeking an experienced and driven Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join our VFL Program for the 2026 season. This role will play a key part in managing the recovery and return-to-play process for injured athletes, ensuring effective rehabilitation outcomes and sustained player availability throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the rehabilitation of injured VFL-listed players, from initial injury through to return-to-play.
Conduct detailed injury assessments and develop progressive, evidence-based rehab plans.
Work collaboratively with the High Performance staff to integrate players back into training loads.
Monitor and report player progress to coaches and medical staff.
Support ongoing injury prevention strategies and player screening processes.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical and rehab documentation.
Key Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
Demonstrated experience in musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation, ideally within AFL/VFL or a high-performance environment.
Strong understanding of load management and return-to-sport principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
Availability for key training sessions and match days (including some evenings and weekends).
Desirable
Previous experience working in football or collision-based sports.
Knowledge of GPS/load monitoring systems and performance data interpretation.
