We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Physiotherapist to join our VFL for the 2026 season. This role is integral to the delivery of best-practice injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation services to our athletes. Leading our medical team while working closely with our, high performance and coaching staff, you will help ensure our players are physically prepared to perform at their best each week.
Key Responsibilities
Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries for VFL-listed players.
Develop and oversee individual rehabilitation and return-to-play programs.
Contribute to ongoing injury prevention strategies and screening processes.
Collaborate with the High Performance Manager and club doctors to coordinate medical care.
Lead training sessions and match days as required (including some weekends and evenings).
Maintain accurate injury and treatment records.
Lead the medical, physiotherapy and sports trainer’s department
Direct Reports: Rehab Physiotherapist, Sports Trainers & Doctor (external)
Key Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
Experience in elite or sub-elite sport, preferably AFL/VFL or similar high-performance environments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Availability to attend key training sessions, game days, and player reviews.
Desirable
Previous experience in football or collision-based sports.
Interest in athlete load management and data-driven performance models.
