About the Role
This is a contract role with part time hours (approximately 8 - 10 hours per week), split across and aligning with VFL training sessions and match days.
Working within the Carlton Football Club’s VFL Program, the VFL Sport Science Coordinator will support the VFL High Performance Manager with implementing and coordinating the Club’s sport science program with an aim to optimise the physical performance of our VFL players.
Working during VFL training sessions and match days, the VFL Sport Science Coordinator will be responsible for responsibilities:
- Data collection via GPS Tracking, including the setup of GPS equipment prior to a session, live GPS monitoring during sessions, and uploading GPS data post-session
- Athlete screening, including physical testing prior to training sessions
- Data capture and entry into the Club’s Athlete Manage System
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have an Undergraduate Exercise Science Degree with 1-2 years of experience or completed an internship in the field of sport science, and prior experience with:
- Operating GPS software (OpenField)
- Conducting screening tests on athletes
- Working with data in sporting context (primarily using Excel)
