MLC Aquatic is seeking an experienced and motivated Swimming Coach to lead and support athletes within our Senior Competition Squad. This role forms a key part of our high-performance swimming pathway, coaching swimmers of all genders from junior levels through to State, National, and international competition.
With the opening of MLC’s brand-new Aquatic Centre in 2026 - featuring an 8-lane 50m pool with moveable boom, Learn to Swim pool, and dedicated diving facilities - this is an exciting time to join a growing and ambitious program.
About the RoleCoaching Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality training for the Senior Competition Squad, supporting swimmers aiming for State and National qualification.
Support other squad sessions each week as directed by the Head of Swimming.
Attend all scheduled swim meets, camps, and tours.
Work collaboratively with Strength & Conditioning Coaches to ensure alignment of swim and gym programs.
Assist with coaching the MLC GSV Team, including training sessions and major meets.
Create a positive, inclusive, motivating environment for all swimmers.
Maintain accurate attendance, squad lists, and relevant documentation.
Participate in weekly coaching meetings.
Program Administration
Assist with social media updates in line with MLC ChildSafe guidelines.
Complete administrative tasks such as:
Uniform and merchandise orders
Planning camps and tours
Updating relay sheets and timetables
Club communications
Maintaining membership and squad lists
Processing new member documentation
College & Team Contribution
Build strong, respectful relationships within the Aquatics team and across the College.
Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff.
Contribute to a positive, values-driven culture aligned with MLC’s values: Engage with Respect, Aspire with Responsibility, Act with Compassion, and Explore with Courage.
Participate in training, meetings, and professional development.
Adhere to all College policies, procedures, and ChildSafe standards.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven experience coaching State and National-level athletes.
Ability to motivate, support, and inspire swimmers.
Advanced (preferred) or Development-level coaching accreditation.
First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
Pool Lifeguard certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Working With Children Check and legal right to work in Australia.

Desirable
Tertiary qualification in Sports Science or a related field.
