Description

St Patrick’s College welcomes expressions of interest from individuals who are either experienced in coaching or eager to develop their skills. These volunteer roles are part of the College’s Co-Curricular Sport Coaching Volunteer Program.

Volunteers will be under the guidance of the College Head of Sport and the Sports Coordinators.

As Co-Curricular Volunteers you will work collaboratively with other coaches, teachers and the College community to promote and foster a safe, learning environment for the development of sport at the College. Our College sport teams compete in the AIC school competition.

In particular we are looking for  AFL, CRICKET and VOLLEYBALL. You will be required for Term 1, 2026 (January to March). Some training sessions and practice games may occur in Term 4, 2025; however, availability can be negotiated. 

In Term 2 we require coaches with experience in Football and Rugby Union.

In Term 3 we focus on Basketball, Rugby League and Tennis.

Coaches with suitable skills and experience are welcome to coach across multiple Terms.

We want you to:

  • Be a dynamic person with high standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with students.
  • Commit to the goals, ethos and mission of the College as an Edmund Rice Catholic School

You will also require the following:  

  • Blue Card - Working with Children Check
  • Proof of previous coaching experience highly regarded.

Coaching hours usually amount to:

  • 2 Training sessions per week over 8/9 weeks, generally 3pm to 5pm weekdays
  • 1 game each Saturday over 8/9 week season during term time.

Safeguarding

This position works directly with children and young and therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate child safeguarding behaviours when engaging with children. All young people are owed a duty of care while in the supervision of these positions.
