The Opportunity

The NBL is seeking an experienced and hands-on Event Operations Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major league events across Australia. 

This role is at the heart of live event delivery, ensuring NBL events, and special activations run seamlessly.
You’ll oversee all operational aspects, from logistics and venue operations to supplier management and on-site execution. This is a pivotal opportunity for an events professional who thrives in high-energy environments and takes pride in delivering world-class experiences for fans, players, and partners alike.

What You’ll Do

Deliver Exceptional Events

• Oversee end-to-end event operations including logistics, staffing, accreditation, and scheduling
• Lead on-site execution of chosen activations and marquee events from bump-in to bump-out
• Develop detailed event operations plans, run sheets, and contingency procedures
• Ensure compliance with venue, league, and broadcast standards
• Maintain the NBL warehouse and asset inventory used across events

Drive Operational Excellence

• Manage suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery
• Oversee risk management, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Monitor event budgets, timelines, and performance metrics
• Contribute to continuous improvement through post-event reviews and innovation

Build Strong Relationships

• Liaise with stakeholders including but not limited to clubs, venues, broadcast partners, and internal departments
• Represent the NBL professionally, building trust and collaboration across all stakeholders
• Support the execution of league-wide initiatives and community activations

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in event operations within sport, entertainment, or large-scale events
• Proven success managing multiple, high-profile live events on time and within budget
• Strong understanding of event logistics, venue management, and operational planning
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to lead under pressure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with risk management, safety compliance, and supplier coordination

Desirable Experience

• Background in professional sports, live entertainment, or broadcast event operations
• Experience integrating fan engagement and presentation elements
• Forklift license (or willingness to obtain)
