Are you a passionate and motivated Diving Coach looking to lead an exciting new program in a world-class facility? MLC is seeking an experienced Head of Diving to establish and manage our new Diving Program ahead of the opening of our state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre in 2026.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design and delivery of diving programs for MLC students and the wider community, from beginner through to advanced levels, while coaching and inspiring the next generation of divers to achieve their best.
About the Role As the Head of Diving, you will take the lead in launching and growing MLC’s year-round Diving Program. Working closely with the Head of Community Sport and the wider Aquatics team, you will recruit and manage casual coaches, develop lesson plans, coordinate program administration, and support MLC’s GSV Diving teams during competition seasons. With future plans to establish the MLC Diving Club and participate in Diving Victoria competitions, this role offers an exciting opportunity to build something exceptional from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coach lunchtime, after-school, and holiday diving sessions
Develop and implement lesson plans and progression frameworks for all levels
Recruit, roster, and manage casual diving instructors
Coordinate program administration, including enquiries, enrolments, and family communication
Support MLC’s GSV Diving teams in Terms 1 and 4
Work collaboratively with the Aquatic programs team to ensure operational efficiency
Manage the Diving Program budget in partnership with the Head of Community Sport
Ensure compliance with all MLC Child Safety and Wellbeing policies
About You
Minimum Level 1 Diving Coach accreditation
Experience leading or coaching in a school or club diving program
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire young people
Current Working with Children Check
Current First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
Pool Lifeguard qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Proficient with technology and program management systems
Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to child safety
Desirable Criteria:
Experience coaching or competing at State and/or National level
Experience using management systems or software to coordinate sporting programs
