Kew Football Club’s Senior Women’s side competes in the William Buck Premier Division of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). The Club’s women’s program was established in 2014, and has since developed and grown, with the Club now fielding three women’s sides in 2026.
The Kew Football Club was formed in 1876 and has one of the oldest and largest women’s football programs in the VAFA. The Women’s Senior team has a talented playing list, including a League Best and Fairest recipient, and Big V representatives. The women’s program had extremely successful years in 2022, 2023, 2024, with all three sides making their respective grand finals.
In 2026, the Club will again field two senior women’s teams, a new women’s U19 team, as well as four men’s teams (including an U19s side). The Club is located at Victoria Park on High Street in Kew with access to two ovals with lighting, quality function facilities, and spacious home change rooms.
The Roles
We're looking for expressions of interest for roles across all of our three women’s sides, seniors, reserves and U19s, for the 2026 season. Working closely with our Women’s Operations and coaches across the program, to create a welcoming and supportive football community. The focus will be on player development, education, and enjoyment.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a community football setting, contributing to team growth and helping to build a positive club culture.
Responsibilities and expectations include:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and coordinating training sessions
- Contribute to the development of technique & skills, football IQ and personal growth of all players
- Assist in the preparation for matches, including strategy meetings and player warm-ups
- Support the implementation of the football game plan in collaboration with other coaching staff
- Provide input on game strategies and player rotations on match days
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all players ensuring a positive and supportive environment
- Communicate effectively with players regarding expectations, schedules, and team policies, where feedback is openly given and received
- Promote an environment of fun, participation and inclusion
