That’s why we’re looking for a Sport Doctor to play a vital role in supporting our national teams and High-Performance programs. You’ll bring medical expertise, professionalism and care to keep our athletes healthy, safe and performing at their best - both on and off the diamond.
The Role (What You’ll Be Doing):
Softball Australia is seeking a Sport Doctor to provide medical leadership, care and guidance across our High-Performance programs. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our athletes while supporting coaches and staff in achieving world-class performance outcomes.
You’ll deliver targeted medical consultation and education, develop return-to-play protocols, and collaborate with our performance support team to optimise athlete care. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic insight to help our athletes stay healthy, resilient and competition-ready.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Current registration as a General Practitioner or Sports Physician
- At least 5 years’ experience in high-performance sport environments
- Proven ability to provide medical consultation and manage injuries in elite sport
- Strong understanding of athlete health, performance medicine and anti-doping requirements
- Experience collaborating with physiotherapists, strength and conditioning staff and coaches
- Ability to educate athletes and staff on injury prevention, health management and wellbeing
- Familiarity with the Athlete Management System (AMS) platform
- Current First Aid and CPR certification and Working with Children or Vulnerable People Check
