The Les Twentyman Foundation is seeking a dedicated and passionate Basketball Coach to join our team at the 96ers Basketball Club. As a basketball coach, you will play a pivotal role in providing quality coaching and mentorship to young individuals aged 7-18, fostering their development both on and off the court. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our inclusive sports program, promoting values of teamwork, confidence, and personal growth among our youth participants.
The Braybrook 96ers Basketball Club, founded in 1996, is a leading inclusive sports program in Victoria. At the Les Twentyman Foundation, we prioritise accessibility by assisting with cost barriers, uniforms and equipment to children and youth from low socio-economic backgrounds. Beyond the joy of team sports, our basketball program emphasises personal growth, fostering confidence, teamwork, acceptance, and leadership.
What Does the Program Offer?
The 96ers provides youth aged 7-18 with the opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals and compete locally.
Volunteers aim to:
- Commit to coaching on Wednesdays (training) and Saturdays (matches)
- Assist with training drills, manage team logistics and report player availability concerns.
- Document incidents during games and practices.
- Handle scoring on game days.
Program Location
The 96ers basketball takes place every Wednesday (4:30pm-6:30pm) and Saturday (10:00am-6:30pm) at Recwest, located at Lily St, Brayrbook, during the school term calendar.
