The Hospitality Manager will oversee the hospitality program for Netball NSW, NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball, on the Suncorp Super Netball season ensuring that the delivery of hospitality services meets the expectations of our corporate partners and stakeholders. This includes managing game day operations and coordinating logistics across various departments to ensure seamless execution.

Reporting to: General Manager - Commercial

Type: Part Time - 4 day week 

         During Season - 4 days + Game Day (Til) 

NETBALL NSW OVERVIEW 

Netball NSW is a not-for-profit organisation, governed by a Board of Directors and managed by professional staff. Netball NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout New South Wales and is a member organisation of Netball Australia. 

Netball NSW provides the framework for approximately 115,000 registered members and over 150,000 total participants to enjoy netball at all levels throughout New South Wales. Our sport continues to grow both on and off the court and much of this success can be attributed to the wide range of programs, facilities and services Netball NSW offers to its members and participants - from the grassroots level through to the elite, professional level.

Netball NSW has a proud history of elite netball teams and athletes’ performances in national and international competition. Over 300 athletes have proudly represented NSW in elite competition since the inception of the national netball league in 1997 and then the ANZ Championship.  2017 saw the introduction of the Suncorp Super Netball, the top Australian domestic competition which includes two NSW elite teams, the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Operations and Logistics

  • Manage and coordinate the hospitality program for GIANTS Netball and NSW Swifts, including invitations, box allocations, and all game day logistics such as catering, theming, guest list management, event communications, run sheets, mc briefing’s and bump-in/bump-out.
  • Manage and coordinate the look and feel of the hospitality program for GIANTS Netball and NSW Swifts, in collaboration with GIANTS Netball staff, NSW Swifts staff plus Commericial and Marketing
  • Support the organisation of partner events in collaboration with the Commercial Team, from invitations through to full logistical coordination, ensuring partner needs and expectations are met.
  • Ensure communication and collaboration across teams for smooth event execution, including GIANTS Netball, NSW Swifts, Government Relations and the Executive Office.
  • Lead and deliver the co event logistics, including venue setup, breakdown, catering, av requirements, hospitality volunteer staff and ensuring all aspects of hospitality are delivered to a high standard. Hands on aspects of the role.
  • Manage the development of hospitality marketing and social media assets with the NNSW design team for use throughout the season.
  • Contribute to the Hospitality Marketing and Sales Plan by attending regular marketing meetings, managing hospitality activities, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Respond to hospitality enquiries and manage service sales through to completion.
  • Budget development monitoring expenses and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Delivery of a post season review and report with commercial results and recommendations for the following season.
  • Management of match day suppliers for both teams including caterer, AV, lighting, marquee 

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for corporate partners and key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood and met throughout the event planning and delivery process.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, government and vendors, to ensure ongoing collaboration and satisfaction.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Candidates for the position of the position will require a range of personal and professional skills including:

Qualifications and experience

  • Proven experience in hospitality management or event coordination, ideally within a sports or events context.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure, ensuring all logistical details are handled efficiently
  • A passion for sports and understanding of the netball community will be highly regarded.
  • Working with Children Check 
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current driver’s license

Knowledge and skills

  • A high level of computer expertise covering Microsoft Office, predominantly Powerpoint, Excel and Word. 
  • Excellent phone manner and written skills.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.    
  • Experience in working independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience and understanding of netball
