About Us: 

The Sandringham Football Club, nicknamed “The Zebras”, is an Australian Rules football club based in Sandringham, Melbourne. The Club was formed in 1929 and manages teams playing in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and the Victorian Football League Women’s (VFLW).

The Sandringham Football Club is looking for a team of proactive and passionate interns to assist with the coordination of our social media operations throughout the 2026 season. The role requires the individual to possess strong creative and planning skills to consistently develop engaging video, photo and written content to publish online. Organisational skills are desired, as well as the ability to produce work under pressure and adapt to current online social media trends. Any experience in graphic design or video editing would be advantageous. 

This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for current students, recent graduates and individuals who are looking to gain valuable experience in the football/sporting industry. Successful candidates will be required to attend one VFL or VFLW game each week throughout the 2026 season plus a minimum of one VFL and VFLW training session per month. An understanding of sports marketing, digital media and communications is required, as well as a strong knowledge of football.

Key Tasks: 

  • Assist in operating Sandringham's VFL and VFLW social media accounts
  • Content creation and scheduling across all social media platforms
  • Record, edit and generate engaging video content
  • Create engaging written content for the Club website

Experience Gained:

  • Digital and written content creation
  • Working within a professional sporting club
  • Interpersonal skills

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Knowledge and experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Experience in graphic design (Photoshop, Indesign or Canva) and video editing
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of digital media & marketing
  • Basic understanding of the football industry
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude

Sandringham Football Club supports child safety and therefore will require all applicants to have a valid Working With Children Check.
