About the role
The NSWIS Sailing Program is a collaborative partnership between NSWIS and Australian Sailing designed to provide athletes access to world-class coaching, training, facilities and performance support services. The Advisor, Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement (AW&E) - Australian Sailing is a pivotal role which helps athletes throughout the pathway excel in and out of sport. As the AW&E Advisor, you will design and deliver tailored programs that empower National Squad and NSWIS athletes to thrive beyond the daily training and competition environment.
Assisting them to navigate transitions in their high-performance journey, shaping futures, fostering resilience and unlocking potential both in and out of sports, by championing the delivery of the Australian Sailing Personal Excellence Framework.
This is a full time position, based at the National Training Centre at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney and attracting a salary range starting at $103,236 plus superannuation. The contract period for this role is up to 31 December 2028 in line with the Olympic cycle.
This is an identified position requiring a Working with Children Check.

About you
You will bring to the team:
- 3+ years experience in the provision and application of any career, education, counselling and profession/personal development services for improved performance.
- Demonstrated high level experience guiding and supporting people through various transition, educational and vocational pathways.
- Experience implementing case management or triage processes to ensure appropriate care and referral are accessible.
- Demonstrated experience to develop, plan and deliver athlete individualised strategies and activities to address the identified wellbeing, career, personal and professional development needs of high performance athletes.
- Proven experience in multidisciplinary collaboration building and leveraging relationships with highly developed communication skills to influence and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, Career Guidance, Personal Development (Arts, Business, or Sciences undergraduate degree) or similar.
- Working with Children WWCC or be willing to obtain this prior to working with us.
