ABOUT THE ROLE
The Rehabilitation Physiotherapist is responsible for optimising rehabilitation planning and delivery to ensure the shortest possible return to play and maximise players' on-field performance.
Reporting to the Head Physiotherapist, this role will:
- Design an overview for each injured player that includes clear progression criteria through phases of rehab
- Work collaboratively with Rehabilitation Coach to plan and deliver exceptional programs for injured players as guided by the medical team
- Collaborate with the psychologist, dietitian, line coach and welfare team regarding the management of rehab players to ensure a wholistic approach
- Monitoring players’ progress against the recovery plan
- Ensure athletes adhere to management plans to maximise their performance on return from injury
- Use and analysis of testing technology such as dynamometry and force plates
- Thorough rehabilitation planning, ensuring use of evidence-based management strategies, high-level player communication and clear objective criteria to guide progressions
- Provide high level communication to high performance department regarding rehab players plans, progress and status
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a calm and measured physiotherapist who can drive high standards and is committed to excellence through goal-setting and collaboration.
The successful candidate will also have:
- A bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy
- A master's degree in Sports Physiotherapy
- 5+ years of professional experience working within an elite or sports environment
- Demonstrated clinical experience in the rehabilitation management of athletes
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to promptly understand and comply with policies, frameworks and strategic directions
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective clinical documentation, records and data
- Strong understanding of the AFL/sports industry
Our ideal candidate can work a wide array of hours with a varying schedule to suit the seasonal priorities of the football industry. Interstate travel is required.
The successful candidate is required to undergo and pass a police check and hold a current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
