About the Role

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to lead the visual identity of Hockey Australia and its associated brands. This role involves designing and maintaining brand guidelines, logos, and promotional assets across digital and print platforms. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, Member Associations, and partners to deliver consistent, high-quality designs for campaigns, events, sponsorship proposals, and corporate materials. Key Responsibilities

Branding & Visual Identity

  • Design and maintain logos, brand guidelines, and style guides for Hockey Australia and its associated brands (e.g. Kookaburras, Hockeyroos, Hockey One, Hookin2Hockey).
  • Ensure consistent visual identity across all platforms and materials, maintaining brand integrity and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with Member Associations to align branding nationally across the sport.

Digital & Promotional Assets

  • Create engaging visual content for social media, websites, EDMs, live streaming platforms, and national events.
  • Contribute creative design ideas to digital campaigns that build brand awareness and audience engagement.

Corporate & Commercial Design

  • Design and update corporate templates, presentations, publications, and event collateral including annual reports.
  • Support the Revenue team with high-quality sponsorship and Government proposal designs that meet branding and partner requirements.
  • Liaise with commercial, Government, and media partners to produce cross-promotional assets and ensure contractual brand representation.

Quality Control & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all design outputs align with brand guidelines and audience expectations.
  • Monitor and maintain consistency across all visual materials, proactively updating assets as needed.
  • Prioritise and deliver design requests in line with strategic goals and deadlines, working closely with the Content Manager.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in graphic design with tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong creative thinking and ability to develop innovative, brand-aligned design concepts across digital and print.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); skills in After Effects and Premiere Pro are highly desirable.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Passionate about sport and committed to continuous improvement, learning, and delivering high-quality, on-brand design work.
  • Due to the nature of the sporting industry, irregular hours, including weekend and after-hours work will be required from time to time.
