Guildford Grammar School is seeking passionate and experienced Water Polo Coaches to be involved with our Senior and Junior teams over the summer season. We are looking for individuals who have qualifications and experience in Water Polo and bring a genuine commitment to fostering development and teamwork. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with both Senior and Junior teams, helping shape the future of young athletes through expert coaching, mentorship and a passion for the game. As a Coach at Guildford Grammar, you’ll play a vital role in developing players’ skills, confidence and character.

If you are passionate about Water Polo and dedicated to developing young athletes, we would love to hear from you! Please submit a short cover letter outlining your experience both playing and coaching, along with a current resume that includes details of three current referees.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor teams during training sessions and matches.
  • Develop and implement training plans tailored to the skill levels and further development of the students.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive culture leaving behind a legacy in the Guildford Grammar Water Polo program.
  • Work closely with the Head of Water Polo to support talented players in achieving both team and individual success.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training and fixtures.

Training Schedule (depending on the team you’ll be coaching)

  • Monday and Wednesday 3.30pm - 5.30pm (Juniors)
  • Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm (Seniors)
  • Wednesday 3.30pm - 5.30pm and Friday 12.45pm - 3.30pm (Girls)

Fixture Schedule (depending on the team you’ll be coaching)

  • Friday afternoons (Juniors)
  • Saturday mornings (Seniors)
  • Sunday (Girls teams)

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of Water Polo and proven coaching techniques, preferably with school-aged or youth athletes.
  • Coaching accreditation is preferred.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Police Check (dated within the last 6 months).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues within the Sports Department and across the School.
