The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Coach to ensure a professional and consistent approach to the Club’s swimming programs and services. The successful applicant must also hold a valid Blue Card, a Senior First Aid (including CPR) Certificate, and the relevant Certificate from Swim Coaches and Teachers Australia.

Position Objective
The Junior Coach assists the Swimming Coaches in their responsibilities for the swim program, predominately with the junior level squad swimmers, and operational pool requirements of Chandler Swimming Club.
The Junior Coach plays a key role in ensuring the ongoing development, growth and success of the Club.The Junior Coach works closely with the Head Coach, the Club and its families to ensure delivery of successful pathways for all swimmers.
Skills and Knowledge
- 2-5 years Coaching experience and knowledge
- Proven performance history of preparing swimmers for entry into Intermediate level swimming squads
- Ability to communicate effectively to key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work under supervision, operate independently and within a team, providing timely follow-up to client groups.
Key Outcomes
- Perform duties conscientiously, in good faith, and exercising all due care, skill and diligence
- To promote the interests of CSC, compliance with all CSC policies, procedures, and regulations is required
- Support strategies to increase the number of swimmers at the Club.
Duties
- Assist the Head Coach in all facets of training and preparing the club members to reach their full potential in their swimming career
- Work 30 hours per fortnight and reasonable additional hours. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday with additional weekend hours (training and competitions) as required by the Head Coach
- Attend swim meets as required by the Head Coach
- Further develop skills by way of training courses and seminars
- Attend club and committee meetings as required by the Head Coach and the Committee
- Assist in furthering Chandler Swimming Club Inc’s culture, philosophies and strategic plan set out by the Head Coach and the Management Committee
- May be called upon to undertake other duties as mutually agreed upon by yourself and the Head Coach from time to time, where such duties are necessary for the continual and successful running of the Chandler Swimming Club Inc
- Provide back-up coaching in the absence of swimming coaches on planned absences eg. swim meets and annual leave
- Support and adhere to all policies and processes in relation to the protection and safeguarding of children.
