About the role
We're on the lookout for a reliable and enthusiastic indoor football (AFL) coordinator to oversee our indoor football competition at Y Leisure City, Epping. This newly created role is a great opportunity for someone with strong game knowledge and a desire to guide others - perfect for an emerging leader who can stay cool under pressure, build strong relationships, and make every game night a great experience for players and spectators alike.
As our indoor football coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality football program across all groups and divisions. Under the guidance of the Sports Director, you'll assist with the coordination and logistics of the indoor football program, including overseeing game nights, mentoring umpires, and ensuring the Y is providing a safe, welcoming environment for all participants.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Responsible for Indoor Football on Monday and Wednesday nights.
- Supervision of games and managing umpire performance.
- Set up and pack up on sports nights.
- Communicating and building a rapport with teams and spectators.
- Dealing with participant conflict in a professional manner.
- Implementing and updating rules when necessary.
This is a casual opportunity requiring availability on Monday and Wednesday nights to support our football competitions, which start from 7pm onwards.

- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (or willing to obtain).
- International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years.
- A passion for footy, with experience umpiring or coaching. Ideally, you’ll have experience coordinating footy or a similar sport.
- A fun, positive and supportive demeanour.
- Availability to work on Monday and Wednesday nights.
- The ability to deal with patrons of all ages, cultures and abilities.
