Description

Scots All Saints College is a Presbyterian Co-educational Day and Boarding College Preparatory to Year 12.  Instruct students on fundamental skills and foster player development within a fun, inclusive and safe environment. 

Multiple sports available; Swimming, Touch Football, Cricket and Basketball

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

COACHING

  • To supervise training and competition, ensuring the facility is used in a safe and respectful manner;
  • To provide students with appropriate training and development programs including rehabilitation, based upon individual and group needs, physical requirements, in line with age and stage of development;
  • To ensure that all training sessions are well planned and effective with team and individual player needs being met;
  • To make a significant contribution to the sports programme in both Games and Physical Education as required by the Director of Sport and Activities;
  • To be a sporting role model to the students;
  • Be aware of the school’s own Health and Safety Policies and procedures and adhere to these;
  • To have a responsibility and duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of students;
  • To be an integral part of the school community;
  • To work in partnerships with local clubs;
  • To assist with the selection of candidates for sports awards.
  • To attend school trips, pre-season training and sporting events when required.
  • Punctual for all coaching sessions and meetings, with equipment set up and ready.
  • Presentation of a professional, dedicated and inclusive attitude and demeanour at all times.
  • Capacity to operate as a collaborative and team-oriented person in a professional work environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Promote an enthusiasm for sport and increasing the awareness of all sport within the school;

PASTORAL

  • Maintain good order and discipline among the students;
  • Safeguard students’ health and safety both when they are authorised to be on the school premises and when they are engaged in authorised school activities elsewhere;
  • Be familiar with the schools staff handbook, with particular focus to child safeguarding and Child Protection regulations and best practice.

DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION

  • Attend and positively contribute towards sports meetings.
  • Write reports following each game to enable you to accurately summarise the season that will be provided as a contribution to the school year book.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability and appropriate training in First Aid
  • Flexibility regarding working hours
  • Preparedness to participate in professional development opportunities as required including mandatory Child Protection training
