Description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled PR & Social Media Executive with 4-5 years of experience to join our boutique agency specialising in sports PR and content. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing social media strategies, management of innovative campaigns as well as pitching to media outlets. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a tight-knit team where versatility, creativity, and collaboration are key.

You will manage a variety of exciting client accounts and projects within the sports sector, crafting compelling content, maximising engagement, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of social media channels. 

You’ll be involved in both high-level strategy development and hands-on execution, offering leadership while working alongside a close-knit group of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

PR and media management 

  • Assist in developing and executing PR campaigns for major sporting events, campaigns and athlete profiling 
  • Media pitching and building relationships with journalists
  • Draft media materials including press releases, media alerts, and briefing notes
  • Coordinate media interviews, photo calls, and media opportunities 
  • Monitor media coverage and compile client reports
  • Provide on-site PR support at events as required including weekend work 

Hands-On Content Creation & Execution:

  • Create  and distribute engaging content across multiple social media platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Actively participate in the development and scheduling of daily posts, live events, and stories to engage audiences and increase brand visibility.
  • Ensure that the content is tailored to the sports industry, resonating with the target audience, and maintaining a high standard of creativity and consistency.
  • Engage with our online communities, responding to comments, messages, and interactions to drive engagement.

Client Management

  • Management of clients priorities to develop social media content calendars and strategies to drive engagement
  • Juggle multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring that all client expectations are met or exceeded in a timely manner.
    Provide client support and ongoing communication regarding social media trends, updates, and new opportunities.

Event Integration:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies around live events, including major sports events and campaigns.
  • Work with event teams to ensure social media presence aligns with event goals and objectives.

Strategic Development 

  • Develop and implement social media strategies that align with client goals, especially for sports-related content and events.
  • Be ahead of industry trends and identify strategies that can help clients increase their followers, engagement and get more people into sport. 
  • Manage client accounts, ensuring strategies are aligned with their brand and business objectives.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis and reporting on social media performance and make data-driven recommendations to optimise future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in Public relations/communications and social media management
  • Experience in developing media materials and pitching to media outlets 
  • Hands-on experience with social media platforms, tools, and analytics, including scheduling, content creation, and reporting.
  • Desired skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and community engagement strategies.
  • Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Brand Watch, AgoraPulse, Meta Business Suite).
  • Excellent copywriting skills for engaging captions
  • Desired (but not essential) knowledge of the sports industry and an understanding of what resonates with sports fans and audiences.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to juggle multiple clients, projects, and deadlines effectively.
  • A creative mindset with an ability to think outside the box and deliver fresh ideas.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • A passion for sports and a desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
