ACSA Swim is Hiring Learn to Swim Instructors!
We offer a wide range of swimming programs for students and the wider community, including our structured Learn to Swim (LTS) Program. This program focuses on essential water safety skills and swimming techniques for learners of all ages. Learning to swim is a vital lifelong skill and provides a solid foundation for participation in aquatic sports.
All our classes are delivered in purpose-built teaching pools that are safe, comfortable, and ideal for instruction.
We’re Looking for Someone Like You:
We are seeking swim instructors who are proactive, passionate, caring, and responsible. You should be a good communicator, work well with children and families, and align with the values of our team and swim school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver swimming lessons (individual and group) in line with ACSA Swim’s teaching framework.
- Adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs.
- Set up and pack down equipment before and after classes.
- Create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Keep attendance and student progress records when required.
- Participate in staff training and team events.
- Maintain professional communication with students, parents, and team members.
- Perform other duties as required.
Work Hours:
This is a casual part-time role. Shifts are scheduled based on program needs and may include afternoon or evening sessions.
We’re Looking For Candidates Who Meet the Following Requirements:
Essential:
- Current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification (or equivalent) - training can be provided.
- Current CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain it.
- Valid Victorian Working with Children Check.
- Recent Victorian Police Check (within the last 3 months).
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications such as Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Competitive Strokes, or Access and Inclusion.
- Experience teaching students with disabilities, young children, or advanced swimmers.
You Should Also Have:
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with children of different ages and backgrounds.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Familiarity with emergency procedures in aquatic settings.

- Responsible, with good classroom management and decision-making.
- Strong time management and a collaborative mindset.
