Permanent FT - the BDO will be engaged for 38 hrs pw - flexibility in hours of completing the pd is vital. The role will operate at the Eric Boardman Stadium, 120 Wilsons Lane, Sunbury 3429. The BDO will oversee the SBA’s development pathway and participation programs.

Program Management and Delivery

Administration and on-Court delivery of all SBA Programs that support athletes and coaches at every level of the development pathway.

• Beginners - Aussie Hoops, Under 8’s Mini Jets and Sporting Schools Program
• Developing - Domestic Development Program, Girls Only Program
• Inclusion - Walking Basketball, All-Abilities
• Performance - Jets Development Squad.

Ensure all programs are:

• Aligned with the Sunbury Jets Style of Play.
• Delivered within budget provided by Basketball Operations Manager (BOM) and Business Manager.
• Designed to develop fundamental movements and skills along with basketball IQ and knowledge.
• Coordinated with coaches, court spacing and appropriate equipment.

Deliver School Holiday Programs / Camps

• Provide options for all age groups and skill levels.
• On Court delivery, administration and promotion.

Introduction Of Girls Only Programs, 3x3 Program and Competitions, School’s program.

• Work alongside BOM in developing programs that promote and expand Girl’s participation.
• Create and support female coaching pathways within Girls-Only programs.
• Develop a 3x3 weekly / term-based program and regular competition for junior girls and boys.
• Develop a School’s clinic program and competition.

VJBL Assistance

• Support the Sunbury Jets Style of Play implemented to all SBA VJBL teams.
• Assist BOM in development of SBA athletes and coaches. Providing a point of contact for all athletes and coaches.
• Attend and assist BOM with on court sessions and required Friday, Sunday and mid-week training sessions.
• Regularly attend VJBL Jets games to assist in athlete and coach feedback / development.
• Assist within the VJBL Jets Try-out process at the BOM discretion.

Junior Domestic Development and Growth

• Build strong bridges between Domestic Clubs and Sunbury Jets.
• Lead skill development session for Domestic Clubs that align with the Sunbury Style of Play.
• Attend junior domestic competitions regularly to observe players and coaches, providing a talent identification process.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with SBA stakeholders, playing groups, external stakeholders, coaching staff and sponsors. Liaise with Junior Domestic Clubs and coaches to provide hands on support and guidance.
