Join the Team Behind the Game
Are you looking for a rewarding weekend role that combines leadership, organisation, and community spirit?
Water Polo Queensland is currently seeking expressions of interest for Pool Controllers to support the Brisbane Metropolitan Junior Competition (BMJC). This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of one of Queensland’s premier junior sporting events.
What is a Pool Controller?
Pool Controllers play a critical role in delivering a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience at our junior water polo matches. They ensure games run on schedule, venues are coordinated, and that players, officials, and spectators have the best possible experience.
You do not need prior experience in water polo - we welcome applicants from all sporting and community backgrounds, including swimming, surf lifesaving, education, or event coordination.
What You'll Gain
- Leadership experience in a dynamic sporting environment.
- Hands-on event coordination skills.
- Networking opportunities with coaches, referees, and community leaders.
- Training and mentorship provided by experienced staff.
- The satisfaction of supporting youth development and grassroots sport.
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, organised individuals with strong communication skills.
- A cool head under pressure and a problem-solving mindset.
- Availability on weekends during the competition season.
- A positive and inclusive attitude; this is a community-first role.
Whether you're an educator, retired sportsperson, university student, or just someone who enjoys being involved in sport ... we want to hear from you.
