We are seeking a permanent, part-time Head Football Coach to work an average of 20 hours per week in a term-time only role. The Ascham Program consists of both a large Winter (Term 2 & 3) season and smaller Summer (Term 1 & 4) season. A competitive remuneration package will be provided based on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. 

As the Head Football Coach will promote Football as an enjoyable, healthy sport for people of all ages and abilities in a safe and friendly environment, and foster and encourage good sportsmanship and fellowship amongst all participants. 

What You Will Do 

• Provide leadership for a beginner through to representative players across both the Junior and Senior School.  
• Provide effective leadership to student-athletes to support both successful academic development and sporting excellence.  
• Liaise effectively with the Head of Sport, Sports administration team and various stakeholders about the Football program including strategic priorities, program administration, scheduling and student wellbeing.  
• Take a pro-active approach to monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards within the program including injury prevention and incident management.  
• Perform other duties as required by the Head of Sport.

What You Will Bring 

• A Development Level Coaching Qualification in Football (or willingness to obtain this qualification).  
• Demonstrated Football coaching experience within a youth sports context with a strong background across the 6-18 years age bracket.  
• An ability to be an effective team member, including initiative, passion, willingness to collaborate and people management skills to drive holistic sports involvement.  
• Proven experience in coaching and/or leading other coaches in their discipline  
• Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member 
• Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles 
• A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
