1st Team Water Polo Coach

Guildford Grammar School is seeking a passionate and experienced Water Polo Coach to lead our Senior 1st Boys Water Polo Team for the upcoming summer season. The ideal candidate will possess strong qualifications and experience in Water Polo, with a commitment to developing our players both on and off the field.

If you are passionate about Water Polo and dedicated to developing young athletes, we would love to hear from you! Please submit a short cover letter outlining your experience both playing and coaching, along with a current resume that includes details of three current referees.

About the Role 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the design and delivery of the 1st Boys Team Water Polo program, including training sessions, gameday coaching, and overall athlete development. Working closely with the Head of Aquatics, you will create a supportive and high-performing team environment that reflects the values of Guildford Grammar School and the PSA sporting framework. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor teams during training sessions and matches.
  • Develop and implement training plans tailored to the skill levels and further development of the students.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive culture leaving behind a legacy in the Guildford Grammar Water Polo program.
  • Work closely with the Head of Water Polo to support talented players in achieving both team and individual success.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training and fixtures.

Training Schedule:

  • Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Fixture Schedule:

  • Saturday mornings

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of Water Polo and proven coaching techniques, preferably with school-aged or youth athletes
  • Coaching accreditation preferred
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Police Check (dated within the last 6 months).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues within the Sports Department and across the School 

Essential Requirements

  • First Aid Certificate
  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
