We are looking for an Education Manager to support the delivery of Volleyball in Australia through contemporary education and development support for coaches, officials, deliverers, volunteers, and others through the management of the Learning Management System and other connected processes.
The successful applicant will be required to adhere to Volleyball Australia’s policies and procedures including the National Integrity Framework and associated integrity policies and the Code of Conduct.
Job Responsibilities
The Education Manager will manage the education portfolio, in line with the Volleyball Australia Strategic Plan and Participation Plan. Under direction of the Growth and Development General Manager, The Education Manager has the responsibility to support the successful execution and administration of educational programs, resources, and services relating to the portfolio including but not limited to:
Oversee the Volleyball Australia Coach and Referee Education ecosystems, including:
- Maintain and develop resources related to education programs within the VA Learning Management System
- Manage the rollout of coach and referee education frameworks to relevant stakeholders
- Manage the training and development of state-based education staff on the National Framework, course delivery and appropriate professional development opportunities
Manage the expansion of the VA Development and Learning Resources including updates to:
- Coach and Referee Education
- Volunteer training
- Volleyball club administration
Design and deliver a program of supplementary education services, conferences and workshops that complement the formal accreditation process
Increase revenue through the development and implementation of an education aligned commercial program
Support the strategic development of a renewed education framework leading into Brisbane 2032
Track Progress and Report on the following
- Education Course engagement
- Referee course engagement
- Growth Metrics and opportunities for innovation
Developing collaborative working relationships with each Member State and their staff in delivering agreed national education priorities through shared services and regular meetings.
Some travel within Australia may be required.
Any other duties as reasonably required by the Sport Delivery and Growth General Manager, Director of Sport Delivery and CEO.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant Tertiary qualifications and /or demonstrated experience in Sports management and administration.
- Desirable to have experience working in the education sector
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and to move the team towards completion of goals; and
- Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals and groups in a way that engages and helps them to understand and retain the message
- Establishes good interpersonal relationships; makes people feel valued, appreciated and included
- Computer Literacy including MS Office Suite and Adobe Suite with an aptitude in learning other specific industry or commercial software
- Desirable to have experience working in national sport programs and communicating with a wide range of audiences including external stakeholders and partner organisations.
- Desirable to have a background in education delivery
- Desirable experience in website content management
- Knowledge of the structure and operations of Volleyball in Australia
