Ivanhoe Aqua Power Swimming Club (IAP) is a not-for-profit, community-based swimming club in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We aim to build a lifelong relationship with swimming for our members. Our club provides an environment where dedicated swimmers of all abilities have the opportunity to develop and grow.

About the role
Due to career progression interstate, we currently have an opening for a Swim Coach to join the IAP team. The role will see you develop and implement training programs that enhance swimmer performance across all skill levels, with a focus on competitive athlete development. This role demands strong knowledge of stroke technique, race skills and dry land integration.
Working 15 - 20 hours a week, your schedule will follow a flexible timetable with shifts in the early morning, afternoon and evening and swim meets on weekends during the competition season.
The role will see you mentored by an experienced and passionate Head Coach to become an integral member of this tight knit community-based sports club and build positive and rewarding relationships with both the swimmers and their parents.

Your Everyday
Working closely with the Head Coach, you will:
- Encourage and motivate swimmers to develop their swimming abilities
- Create and run progressive training plans that meet the needs of each swimmer
- Bring energy and creativity to coaching, adapting your approach to support every individual
- Develop a positive, respectful coaching environment where swimmers feel supported and valued to help them learn and grow
About You
- You will have a strong passion for coaching and the ability to inspire and motivate swimmers while balancing performance, skill development and well being.
- You will bring a minimum of three years’ experience in coaching a state squad or higher
- Posses a current Level 2 First Aid Certificate, CPR and valid Working with Children Check
- Hold relevant qualifications including ASCTA or equivalent, Development Level or above preferred
- Attained your Lifeguard qualification
- Ability to work effectively and independently as a strong and valuable part of the team
- Have solid knowledge of child safety protocols and compliance requirements.
