About the role
We are seeking a part time (0.6FTE) Sports Physiotherapist to join our esteemed and growing team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class physiotherapy services to high-performance athletes across multiple sports programs at NSWIS.
This role assists to enhance athlete wellbeing, performance and rehabilitation by integrating best-practice physiotherapy, injury prevention and recovery strategies. In collaboration with an interdisciplinary performance support team, the successful candidate will help deliver tailored support that maximises athlete performance, availability, and resilience - contributing to NSWIS’s mission to prepare athletes to represent Australia on the world stage.
This is a part-time (0.6FTE) role, the full-time equivalent (FTE) annual salary starts at $120,441 plus superannuation, which will be paid pro-rata for hours worked. The contract period extends to 31 December 2028, in line with the Olympic cycle.
This is an identified position requiring a Working with Children Check.

About you
You will have:
- Comprehensive knowledge of high performance sports environments, training loads and athlete health management in sport.
- Expertise in sports physiotherapy diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation specific to athletes.
- Proven ability to develop and implement proactive clinical service delivery models that optimise athlete health and performance.
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation planning, and return-to-play strategies.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary high-performance environment, collaborating with coaches and support teams.
- Experience and understanding of emerging research, technologies, and best practices in sport physiotherapy.
- Experience and knowledge of high-performance sport across multiple sports and pathways.
- 5+ years’ experience in the provision and application of physiotherapy services.
- Experience working within inclusive sport programs in both injury rehabilitation and prevention.
Essential Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy
- Master’s or titling as a Sport and Exercise or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
- AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
