Guildford Grammar School is seeking experienced and dedicated Basketball Coaches to be involved with our Senior and Junior teams over the Summer Season. You will be an experienced basketball coach with proven coaching experience who can lead, develop, and inspire players. You will also possess strong qualifications/experience and a commitment to developing our players both on and off the court. 

If you are passionate about Basketball and dedicated to developing young athletes, we would love to hear from you! Please submit a short cover letter outlining your experience both playing and coaching, along with a current resume that includes details of three current referees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor teams during training sessions and matches.
  • Develop and implement training plans tailored to the skill levels and further development of the players.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive culture leaving behind a legacy in the Guildford Grammar Basketball program.
  • Work closely with the Head of Basketball to support talented players in achieving both team and individual success.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training and fixtures.

Training Schedule (depending on the team you’ll be coaching)

  • Monday and Wednesday, 3.30pm - 5.30pm (Juniors)
  • Tuesday and Thursday, 3.30pm - 5.30pm (Seniors)

Fixture Schedule:

  • Friday afternoon (12pm - 4pm)
  • Saturday (time dependant on team)

About You:

  • Proven experience coaching at State Level or the West Australian Basketball League (WABL) or equivalent high-level women's basketball competitions. Extensive coaching experience in community or domestic sport will also be considered. 
  • Coaching accreditation or certificates (e.g., Basketball Australia's Level 1 or higher)
  • Strong understanding of basketball tactics, strategies, and player development principles.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with players, staff, and support teams.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive sporting environment.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Police Check (dated within the last 6 months).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues within the Sports Department and across the School.
