WAIS is seeking a Quality Assurance Sport Scientist. This role will support the Performance Science Lead in delivering WAIS quality assurance practice objectives aligned to the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) National Quality Standards Scheme. The role operates within a Win Well ethos, focusing on developing and delivering key quality assurance projects to support the WAIS high performance sport system to maintain best practice within performance support. Please note, this a part-time role (0.5 FTE) and has a maximum term until June 2027 with the potential to extend.

Role Overview:
In this role your key areas of responsibility include:
- Implementing and managing WAIS Quality Assurance systems aligned to the AIS National Quality Standards Scheme
- Ensure relevant WAIS high performance equipment and technology operate according to established standards and support performance delivery
- Support Performance Science Lead to drive practice standards across the organisation
- Co-ordinate and collaborate with Performance Support staff to ensure best practice standards across each discipline
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support high-quality business outcomes
- Ensure high-performance environments are safe, policy-compliant, and conducive to athlete well-being
About you:
- You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-performance sporting environment, including:
- Technical expertise in the maintenance, technical operation and related procedures/protocols of sport science equipment and facilities
- Experience calibrating a range of high-performance sport equipment and understanding of equipment accuracy and tolerances
- Ability to critically evaluate emerging technologies for practical use in impacting a performance environment
- Expertise in performance data assessment and reporting, including inter and intra rater reliability assessments
- Expertise in developing and implementing testing protocols in consultation with other sports scientists, coaches and athletes
- Experience developing or working with quality assurance standards
- Experience in Sport Science testing laboratory or closely related facility is highly desirable
- Postgraduate tertiary qualification in Sport Science, Sports Medicine or a related scientific field
- ESSA Accredited Sport Scientist [ASpS] Level 1.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- You have amazing interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with athletes, colleagues and external stakeholders alike.
- You are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
- You have or are able to attain a Working with Children Check and National Police Criminal History check.
