Gymnastics Townsville is a community based not-for-profit sporting club with more than 900 members. An elected Management Committee governs the club and the Program Leaders, and Customer Service Officers perform the day-to-day duties.
Qualifications & experience
Minimum WAG Advanced Accreditation Desirable
Minimum 5 years’ experience in coaching Women’s artistic gymnastics programs
Demonstrated previous gymnastic sports program management experience
Demonstrated previous gymnastic curriculum and gym sports program development experience
Previous experience in staff management processes including hiring, staff review, performance management, and termination processes
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
A commitment to achieving team results with proactive sharing of information and a desire to involve others where appropriate.
The ability to participate in and contribute to the establishment of a high performing team environment.
The ability to develop a future vision and translate it into a series of achievable actions or steps
Tasks & responsibilities
Work with Sports Management Committee (SMC), GfA Program Leader, and WAG coaches to maximise participation in all teams and ensure sound and regular progression of WAG gymnasts through the Gymnastics Townsville WAG pathway.
Work with the SMC and WAG coaches to maximise competitive results for all gymnasts in the program, including establishing goals and monitoring performances
Work with the SMC and the WAG coaches to optimise participation in all WAG classes
Conduct regular (at least once per term) WAG program staff meetings with WAG coaching staff
Participate in weekly senior staff meetings
Provide regular reports to the SMC on issues/concerns with and results of WAG programs
Prepare submissions for the SMC to present to the Management Committee for approval of any activities outside the scope of normal training (eg competitions, training clinics, etc)
Prepare and Maintain a WAG Equipment Priority Acquisition Plan in consultation with the Operations Manager and other Head Coaches and Program Leaders.
