About Table Tennis Australia

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is a not-for-profit member-based organisation.

It is an Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games sport that is enjoyed by all age groups of the community from Juniors through to Veterans competitors.

TTA is the National Sporting Organisation for the sport of Table Tennis in Australia and is affiliated with both the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), who are responsible for the sport at the international level, and ITTF-Oceania, who are responsible for the sport at the continental level.

About the role

As Table Tennis Australia embarks on the exciting journey to LA 2028 and beyond, we are seeking an influential and highly collaborative General Manager to oversee Table Tennis Australia’s National Olympic program.

This is a rare career opportunity and success in this role will directly influence Table Tennis Australia’s performance on both a national and international level both now and into the future.

Reporting directly to the CEO, your duties will include:

  • Accountability for Table Tennis Australia’s Talent ID, Pathways and High-Performance programs.
  • Leading and monitoring national teams’ performance including plans for elite, emerging, developing and podium potential athletes.
  • Fostering and embedding a positive performance culture, leading the team and community to co create values and behaviours that are conducive to delivering Win Well High-Performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate and manage a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enabling a team with the highest amount of respect and integrity, wellbeing and world class standards.
  • Lead and promote change that aligns with the Table Tennis Australia 2028 High Performance strategy.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Talent ID, Pathways and High Performance.

*This is a two-year fix term contract with the potential of extension.

About you

We are looking for someone with the following traits and experiences:

  • Experience in the management and/or administration of HP sport programs at a state, national or international level.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Australian Sport System.
  • Proven ability to positively influence, engage, and develop working relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Outstanding communication and people skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage competing priorities with strong organisation skills.
  • Genuine, self-aware leader with strong resilience.

Position location

Ideally the successful applicant will reside in Melbourne.
