Description

Ladies Recreation Club (LRC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Swim Coach to lead and develop our squad members across all levels. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in age group coaching, possess excellent administrative and communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to developing a team that competes both locally and internationally. The role will likely span age group and masters coaching where a focus on skill development and session planning and writing will be required.

Our Swim program operates year-round and has a membership in excess of 500 swimmers; comprising Squad, Masters, Learn to Swim and Private Lessons. The demographic of the team is diverse, and our vision is to support and nurture our members to strive for improvements in both technique and performance, whilst supporting those with aspirations of racing at a higher level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive age group swim program that focuses on technique, skill development, and competitive performance.
  • Plan and conduct structured training sessions for swimmers of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Provide individualized coaching and feedback to swimmers to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff members, under the direction of the Head Coach, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to training and development.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to the swim program, including scheduling, meet entries, and communication with parents and swimmers.
  • Foster a positive and supportive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Prepare swimmers for local, regional, national, and international competitions and accompany them to selected meets as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in age group swimming and coaching.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in age group coaching, preferably at a competitive level.
  • Proven track record of developing swimmers and achieving success at various levels of competition.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff members.
  • Current certification from a recognized swimming governing body (e.g., USA Swimming, ASCA, Swim England).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate swim meet schedules and training sessions.
  • Passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes and helping them reach their full potential.
