As the Player Development Manager, you will play a crucial part in supporting the personal and professional development of the AFL playing group. With your guidance, these individuals will receive the necessary resources, mentorship and support to reach their full potential as professional athletes and individuals. You will be responsible supporting their education, vocation, career development, wellbeing, and transition services. The scope of the role will include:

• Facilitation of Club & AFL mandated educational workshops and training
• Developing and implementing a holistic Player Development Program focusing on career development, further education, wellbeing, life-skills, and personal growth through mentorship.
• Support players induction, including relocation services, and post-football transition. 
• Foster a positive connection with player partners and families by coordinating our “Freo Family” Program
• Developing a strong rapport with the AFL players

What we’re looking for 

We are seeking a candidate who brings:

• Tertiary qualifications or higher in Education, Social Science, Health, Psychology/ Counselling or similar
• Current or willingness to complete AFL Sports Ready Professional Certificate in Player Development and Wellbeing or similar with ACPE. 
• Exceptional integrity, emotional intelligence, communication and interpersonal skills
• An ability and willingness to work weekends and travel interstate for match day fixtures and other Club events as required
• Current or willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
