The Digital Media & Marketing Executive is an integral member of the Beyond the Break Consulting team, joining a small team as part of the boutique sports agency.

The role focuses on the development and execution of our clients’ strategic marketing and digital media activities designed to drive brand presence, customer engagement and digital footprint.

Beyond the Break Consulting is an Australian sports consultancy that works with professional sporting codes, Olympic and Paralympic sports and major multi-sport events. 

With decades of experience in the sporting industry, working across communications, marketing, media, public relations and sponsorship services, our team are among industry leaders in the field.

With offices located in Sydney and Brisbane, Beyond the Break Consulting works with both Australian and international brands to deliver bespoke solutions.  BTB has strong relationships with media outlets across Australia as well as a proven track record in helping brands grow their digital footprint and connect to fans. This role will be based in our Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Content Development

  • Coordinate all day-to-day marketing activity and campaigns for clients including liaising with designers, videographers and content providers to ensure deadlines and brand requirements are met.
  • Manage the creation and ongoing coordination of client marketing and communications calendars.
  • Collaborate with the BTB team and clients to create compelling multimedia content across social media and websites.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans that drive engagement and align with broader brand and PR strategies.
  • Design and produce creative content for diverse digital platforms, utilising tools such as Canva.
  • Innovate and propose marketing content ideas that attract new audiences and strengthen connections with existing ones.
  • Capture and produce on-location content during events, including photo shoots, ambassador activities, and promotional events.
  • Manage the development and distribution of digital content including e-newsletters and websites, ensuring they are aligned with the overall marketing content calendar.

Brand Management and Public Relations

  • Lead the execution of brand refresh initiatives, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, pitching stories, organising interviews, and managing media inquiries.
  • Oversee media relations during key events and promotional activities, ensuring consistent and positive brand representation.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other PR materials to enhance public visibility and brand reputation.

Client and Ambassador Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and their state bodies and franchisees, providing weekly updates through emails and calls to support their marketing efforts.
  • Manage relationships with brand ambassadors, coordinating their activities to align with marketing goals and campaigns.
  • Coordinate and attend photoshoots across multiple states, ensuring the brand’s visual identity is accurately captured and represented.

Digital Toolkit and Content Management

  • Oversee the management of digital toolkits, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible for all stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage content calendars to streamline the planning and publication of marketing materials across various platforms.
  • Collect and manage testimonials, ensuring their effective use in marketing campaigns and materials.

Administration 

  • Coordinate photography and videography resources for major events and key promotional activities 
  • Archive all relevant imagery and video, ensuring all metadata for files is entered precisely
  • Manage content calendars for client’s digital platforms
  • Improve team processes as required to ensure BTB clients’ communication objectives are delivered on time and with effective outcomes
  • Develop and present reports on digital and PR campaign effectiveness, providing actionable insights for future strategies.
  • Undertake other duties as required to meet team or organisational objectives

Requirements

  • 1-3 years+ experience in a similar marketing role 
  • Experience in managing suppliers such as graphic designers, videographers, advertisers 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently, and consistently deliver to deadlines
  • Expert written skills for website, social media and EDM content
  • Experience in coordinating marketing campaigns and content 
  • Experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok
  • Experience filming and editing engaging videos for online and social media is highly valued
  • Proven ability to design and build engaging digital content, with a high attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to tailor communication to different audiences
  • An appreciation of the sporting landscape, and how best to engage with athletes and the wider sports community 
  • Flexibility for weekends and evenings work with some occasional interstate travel 
  • The successful applicant must have a valid Working With Children Check (employee)
