We are searching for a confident and motivated Sponsorship and Events Manager to join our team, fulltime on a 12 months contract, with a strong potential of extension. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and driven by results, we want to hear from you!
About the Role
The Sponsorship & Events Manager will be responsible for delivery of Capital Football's events and driving the organisation’s sponsorship strategy. They will identify and pursue potential sponsors after targeted research as well as conducting short and long term planning and management for events.
In this role you will:
- Lead your team to deliver key events including:
- Canberra United home games in Season 2024/25, with a focus on improving fan experience and engagement.
- Kanga Cup, the largest youth football festival in Australia with 350 teams and 4,500 participants.
- Source opportunities to increase awareness, promote, develop and maintain Capital Football’s image.
- Negotiate sponsorship deals for targeted activities/areas of the organisation to increase revenue and continued relationships.
The Ideal Person:
- You will hold, or be able to gain an ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.
- You will be a proven leader with experience coordinating and managing events.
- You will challenge our expectations and brings new and exciting ideas to create awesome member experiences.
- You will have a strong network of corporate contacts and a track record of securing sponsorship deals.
- You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- You are able to work creatively, under pressure and to strict timelines.
- Tertiary qualifications in Sport Management, Event Management or similar are desireable.

Capital Football is the governing body for football in the ACT, responsible for overseeing competitions, ACT representative teams, and the growth of the sport across the region. Additionally, Capital Football manages Canberra United, the only women’s A-League club not affiliated with a professional men’s team.
