At Football Queensland we are entering an exciting time for the game of football. We are leveraging the massive success that was the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, while the game in Queensland is embarking on an important journey to reach 50/50 gender parity by 2027. Football in Queensland has recently completed an important reform journey for the game, which will see football taken to the next level.
Our vision is for football in Queensland to be united. For football to be the game of choice, for all, for life.
Football Queensland as the governing body fore football in Queensland, exists to develop and grow the game at all levels by leading and supporting our clubs, volunteers, coaches, referees and stakeholders to provide exciting and enjoyable experiences for all Queenslanders - anytime, anywhere. Football Queensland also deliver play development pathways and manage the premier football competitions across the state.

Primary Purpose of Role
The role is a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about sports and mentoring to make a positive impact in the community while enjoying a flexible work schedule.
The role Casual Coach - Football in the Community will work with the broader Football Queensland team, clubs and schools to create an environment that fosters and maximises participation in football across Queensland. Delivery may include, but not be limited to the following 'Football in the Community' programs:
- School Programs
- Holiday Clinics
- Game Day Activations
- Half-Time Heroes
- Player Mascots
- Assembly Visits
As part of the role, you will be contributing directly to the 2023 - 2026 Football Queensland (FQ) One Football Strategic Plan 'Anytime, Anywhere'. For further information on the FQ Strategic Plan, visit the Football Queensland website, www.footballqueensland.com.au
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Plan, prepare and delivery coaching sessions tailored to the needs and abilities of participants
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help participants improve their skills and performance
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamowork, discipline, and sportsmanship
- Monitor and assess the progress of participants, adjusting session delivery as necessary
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during sessions
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and other stakeholders regarding progress, upcoming events and any other relevant information
- Assist with the organisation and supervision of competitions, events and other activities as required
- Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques and trends in the sport
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
To be the right fit for the role, you will:
- Hold a current driver's license and have reliable transport
- Completed a MiniRoos Certificate or higher equivalent coaching course (or willing to obtain)
- Strong ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all ages and skill levels
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective organisational and time management skills
- Be able to demonstrate a collaborative and inclusive approach to problem solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be enthusiastic with a high-level of self-motivation
- Be consistently proactive, taking initiative whenever possible
It is a mandatory requirement for this role that you hold a current 'paid' blue card for working with children.
The following skills and qualification are desirable:
- Experience within the game of football (eg player, referee, coach, administrator)
- Hold a current First Aid certificate or be willing to attain one
