The Competitions & Event Coordinator for Squash Australia will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of national squash events by ensuring smooth operations and memorable experiences for participants and spectators alike.


1. Event Planning and Logistic

  • Coordinate all aspects of national squash events, including equipment procurement and travel arrangements for staff and officials.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and venues to ensure delivery of services and resources required for successful events.

2. Participant Registration and Communication

  • Oversee the registration process for players, coaches, and officials, providing timely updates and assistance to participants throughout the registration period.
  • Communicate event details, rules, and regulations to participants and work with media team to promote events.
  • Oversee the ranking and rating systems utilised by Squash and provide support to participants.

3. On-Site Event Management

  • Manage on-site logistics during national squash events, including setup, signage, registration check-in, and coordination of match schedules.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive event experience for all involved.

4. Volunteer/Officials Coordination

  • Coordinate volunteers to assist with various event tasks, such as court maintenance, event services and crowd control.
  • Provide guidance and support to officials throughout the event process to ensure smooth operations and effective teamwork.

5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with associations and clubs to develop and grow national event calendar.
    • Foster relationships with key stakeholders and seek collaboration opportunities.


  • Experience in event coordination, preferably within the sports industry or related field.
  • Passion for squash and a basic understanding of the sport's rules, regulations, and competitive landscape preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality experiences for participants and spectators.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children and young people.
  • Efficient at Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and event management software/tools.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
  • Strong time management, presentation skills and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Adequate computer skills and information technology literacy
  • Preparedness to be flexible in respect to work hours
