We are on the hunt for dedicated and enthusiastic Swimming Teachers to join our team and help create a vibrant and enjoyable Learn to Swim program at the UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre. UNSWFAC is a leading provider of swimming lessons and aquatic programs in Kensington. We are dedicated to promoting water safety and providing high-quality swimming instruction to individuals of all ages and skill levels.

Clublinks is appointed by UNSW Sydney to lead the health, fitness, aquatic, leisure and wellness initiatives across their Sports and Leisure facilities, located in Kensington.

More detail:

This will be a permanent part time role with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups, focusing on water safety, stroke development, and overall swimming technique. 
  • Create and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of each student.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their swimming skills.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, student evaluations, and lesson plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, addressing any concerns or questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other swimming instructors and staff members to enhance program quality and develop innovative teaching methods.
  • Attend regular staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest teaching techniques and safety protocols.

About you:

You will have:

  • Previous experience as a swimming instructor or relevant swimming certification (e.g., Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Swim England/Swim Australia Instructor, etc.).
  • Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swimming strokes and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of different ages and backgrounds.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality instruction.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a passion for teaching and promoting water safety.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Minimum availability 20 hours across weekdays and weekends.
