The Pathways Lead role is a terrific opportunity for a dynamic individual to engage with the athletics community in South Australia.
The Pathways Lead will engage with Clubs and work to support them in their functions, programs, and initiatives with the aim of increasing participation in athletics and enhancing sustainability.
Coaching is a critical area within South Australian athletics at all levels and this role will also ensure the State generates enough qualified coaches to facilitate sustainable growth in participation and membership.
The key areas of responsibility for this role are, but not limited to, the following:
Building strong relationships with ASA clubs to support and facilitate growth and participation.
Manage new club applications and support One Club mergers, partnerships, and evolution.
Actively promote club membership/registration initiatives with the goal of increasing participation of junior age athletes in weekly Athletics SA competition, and the retention of athletes as they move into open age competition.
Identify new markets and leverage existing relationships with the aim of increasing the number of coaching program participants and the number of accredited athletics coaches in South Australia.
Liaise with key stakeholders to set dates, select venues, and coordinate the engagement of appropriately trained and qualified coaches and staff for all coaching programs.
Drive the effective delivery of the SA Coaching Academy and provide regular professional development opportunities for accredited coaches.
Seek to link newly accredited (and existing) coaches with local clubs and centres
Promotion of inclusion and diversity within the athletics community in support of ASA’s approach to be an inclusive sport for all.
In conjunction with the Pathways Manager and Events Manager successfully deliver the SA All Schools Games, Schools Challenge, State Championships, Adelaide Invitational, and other events as directed.
Ensure there are effective communication pathways between all key stakeholders, facilitating constructive dialogue and strong working relationships.
Special Employment Conditions:
Regular work outside of normal office hours, including weekends, will be required.
A current driver’s licence and vehicle is essential, as is full vaccination against Covid-19.
