Gymnastics Queensland (GQ) are excited to start the search for our next team member to undertake the position of Marketing Manager. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing the marketing strategy for the organisation, to build brand awareness and positioning, develop relationships with key stakeholders and attain and retain sponsors to drive extensive and sustainable growth for Gymnastics Queensland and its members.
This leadership position will directly manage the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and oversee the day-to-day operations in the marketing department. The full-time position is a key element of GQ’s leadership team aimed at implementing GQ’s 2021-2024 Strategic plan and developing a high performing culture within the organisation.
This role will be based at Gymnastics Queensland’s head office in the Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler. Our team works flexibly, and we would encourage the successful applicant to discuss flexible working options with their new manager.

Who are we looking for?
You have experience delivering successful marketing campaigns and are passionate about promoting and developing sport. You have a passion for leading high-performance teams whilst possessing at least two years’ experience managing staff and contributing to a high performing culture.
You are a strategic and creative thinker that can deliver successful campaigns with a limited budget. You possess high quality communication skills and can work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders from GQ staff and Board, to clubs, athletes, coaches and members to engage and promote what is great about gymnastics in Queensland.
You enjoy coming up with creative solutions to problems and have contemporary marketing and sponsorship knowledge to ensure GQ is a leader in the industry.
As a highly motived self-starter, with a can-do attitude you possess a high attention to detail and are focused on delivering results.
Some of your key deliverables will include:
- Provide visible leadership to the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to maintain strong customer focus and a high-performing culture
- Develop GQ’s marketing strategies and campaigns incorporating both digital and traditional methods
- Oversee and assist in the day to day delivery of GQ’s marketing strategies and campaigns which incorporate all GQ operational areas
- Coordinate media and public relation strategies and initiatives that grow and promote gymnastics in Queensland
- Execute GQ’s sponsorship strategy and servicing to deliver new sponsorship income and opportunities to GQ
- Deliver key projects including GQ’s annual report and a new GQ website
- Maintain strong and supporting relationships with Gymnastics Australia, Clubs, Technical Members, GQ Staff members, volunteers, and other stakeholders
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing/PR or relevant experience in a related area (desirable)
Location & Hours
The Gymnastics Queensland office is located at the Sleeman Sports Complex, Cnr Tilley & Old Cleveland Roads Chandler, Brisbane, QLD. The expectation is that this role will be based at the GQ office. The nature of the position may require some weekend work at events or other activities.

- Current driver’s licence and vehicle
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a Blue Card
- Current First Aid and CPR or willingness to attain
