The Sydney Swans are accepting applications from suitably experienced individuals to join our inaugural AFLW program as our AFLW Player Development Manager.

This role is primarily responsible for facilitating and coordinating the non-athletic endeavours of Sydney Swans AFLW players to maximise each player’s personal and professional development.

This encompasses education, vocation and career development along with wellbeing support and the coordination of mental health and wellbeing services.


  • Minimum certificate IV in health science, behavioural science, social science or psychology field or related discipline (mandatory)
  • Tertiary degree in health science, behavioural science, social science or psychology field or related discipline (desirable)
  • Experience working in an elite sporting environment with female athletes (desirable)
  • Ability to build relationships and influence in a positive manner
  • Ability to work with a degree of uncertainty and on projects which are in their infancy
  • Effective communication style including the ability to adapt to deliver the desired outcome
  • Proven experience in managing confidential information
  • Highly developed conflict resolution skills
  • Solutions-focused mindset
