West Perth Football Club is seeking to appoint a WAFLW League Head Coach who will be passionate about women’s football and the Club’s journey into the WAFLW League competition in 2022.

The club’s vision for the future is to create a club that is successful, sustainable, socially inclusive and equally focused on both men’s and women’s programs.

This is an opportunity to be involved in the establishment and development of WAFLW League football at West Perth Football Club, completing the AFL pathway for girls in the district from community football to football at an elite level.

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for the creation and implementation of a coaching methodology that drives and promotes success and implements an overall game plan that is in line with our club principles and development strategy.
  • The WAFLW League Head Coach would be responsible for implementing recommendations with expectations to improve fitness, performance and skills. Creating an environment where all feel safe, trusted, valued, and respected within the team and the building of a high-performance culture that actively embraces athlete wellbeing as a key pillar of an environment for sustained success.
  • As WAFLW League Senior Coach you will be required to work closely with WPFC Football Operations, Playing Group, Strength and Conditioning Coach as well as the  Medical Team. This role requires effective communication skills and an ability to foster and maintain an environment where feedback is openly given and received from players, leadership, and coaches.
  • The ideal candidate will have proven experience in coaching AFL at an elite or sub-elite level and be passionate about the development of female footballers and focused on players reaching their full potential. Level 2 coaching qualification or working towards or above is required.
  • The candidate will need good relationship building skills, with an ability to nurture and develop individuals ensuring a positive experience within the Club. Being able to quickly build rapport with current and future players is a desired skill.
  • Having previously being exposed to an elite sporting environment you will need to be capable of working a wide array of hours with varying times and hours to suit the afterhours nature of women's football.  An understanding of the demands and complexities of women's football would also be an asset.
  • West Perth Football Club requires all applicants to obtain a Working with Children Check and Police Clearance prior to appointment.
