The South West Academy of Sport (SWAS) is one of six Victorian Regional Academies of Sport who provide holistic development and support for aspiring athletes to reach elite levels of competition and State and National representation.  Athletes from south west Victoria are provided access to sport science, sports medicine, training and mentoring to build the foundation in preparation for elite pathways and competition.  We are looking for a Program Coordinator to join the SWAS team in Warrnambool, Victoria.

About the role

The Program Coordinator will provide administration and delivery in the day to day running of the academy athlete support services.  You will have a key role ensuring SWAS operates effectively to deliver SWAS athletes with the most appropriate and enriching support services that the organisation can deliver in line with the organisation’s policies, strategic plan, and budget.  This 0.8 FTE role is a twelve month fixed term contract, with the potential to be extended.

You will work with the CEO to;

  • Manage the athlete and parent user experience
  • Coordinate athlete applications and inductions
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of SWAS Sport Science services, Sport Programs, and the Athlete Education program
  • Manage the online presence of the Academy
  • Promote the activities of SWAS and the success of athletes
  • Work with parents, athletes, coaches, guest speakers and other service providers
  • Act as an operational point of contact

About you

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Enthusiasm and a drive for excellence
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Professional administrative skills and ability
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver results
  • Professional competence operating the Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn new software
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
