The Primary Purpose of this role is to provide digital content creation and support, across the suite of Netball Victoria properties (including the Melbourne Vixens) by:

  • Producing video and photographic content across a range of communications channels
  • Producing EDMs and website content
  • Maintaining and improving relevant websites
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of a digital marketing strategy.

Job tasks and responsibilities

You will also:

  • Produce relevant videos and maintain the organisation’s video database, performing role of videographer and photographer as required
  • Produce live content such as competition livestreams and Vixens Live
  • Produce, record and publish podcasts for Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria products
  • Coordinate online content to ensure accuracy in writing, editing and posting of communications
  • Coordination and production (including copy writing) of relevant Netball Victoria and Melbourne Vixens EDMs
  • Oversee and manage web content and evaluate content and usability in conjunction with other staff as directed
  • Maintain and improve relevant websites to enhance and maximise member user experience
  • Research topics, contacts and interview sources for the relevant channels and publications
  • Proactively seek out and create content across Netball Victoria’s suite of properties
  • Create / integrate content for social media channels working closely with the Media and Communications Manager and Media and Communications Coordinator
  • Investigate new digital media opportunities which may be of benefit to Netball Victoria and Melbourne Vixens
  • Produce internal and external communication pieces covering Netball Victoria and Melbourne Vixens’ activities, events and publications, newsletters, promotional materials and online use
  • Work closely with the Media and Communications Manager and the Media and Communications Coordinator to streamline content to promote Netball Victoria and Melbourne Vixens programs across digital channels and to the media
  • Work with the Media and Communications Manager and the General Manager - Communications, Marketing and Partnerships to initiate, develop and coordinate strategies to increase the profile of the Netball Victoria and major partners
  • Management of organisation’s digital asset register, which includes all platforms, logins, passwords
  • Manage video and photography consent forms
  • On-going reporting of digital activity as required, including website, EDM and social media analytics
  • Assist in the provision of additional reports and other documents as required
  • Support the Communications, Marketing and Partnerships team when needed

About You

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Experience in Adobe Suite essential
  • Tertiary qualification or experience in digital media /content creation / related disciplines
  • Relevant technical skills in video production, photography, design/digital editing, and website maintenance and improvements
  • Proven ability to develop and execute digital content strategies which advance organisational goals
  • Experience developing high-quality and engaging content across multiple platforms including web, social media, email direct marketing and print publications
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds, including senior staff and executives
  • Experience developing and managing content across multiple social media channels and a capacity to tailor content for these platforms
  • Experience working with staff to build capacity for them to develop high-quality content for external audiences
  • Ability to interpret and present digital analytics for reporting purposes and to support the continuous improvement of digital platforms
  • High-level organisational skills with a capacity to manage competing demands
  • Ability to work with and support people to share their stories in ways that empower them and advance organisational goals
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required
  • A high level of attention to delivery and detail
  • High level of written communication skills  
  • Demonstrated capacity to autonomously determine and work to deadlines with a “can-do” attitude
  • Driver’s licence and willingness to drive long distances over a day to various destinations in Victoria  
  • Working with Children Check
  • Some knowledge and/or experience working with individuals, groups or communities from an all abilities, multicultural or Indigenous background will be an advantage.
